Unlike Christmas, public holidays and birthdays getting married is something most of us aspire at the time to experience only once, so as celebration bashes go it really is up there with the very best of them. As such we tend to make that extra effort to make sure that every last aspect of the event is planned with deadly precision, leaving no margin for error, nor any opening for catastrophe.
Organising the actual wedding ceremony itself is quite often the very least of one’s concerns. The invitations first have to be issued out, and major decisions have to be reached as to who should be invited along and who should not. Family feuds and quarrels amongst friends and associates will need to be factored in, as does the likelihood of any particular person creating unnecessary trouble or embarrassment at the reception. One cannot invite everyone, so whom to leave out? Hurt feelings and the probable consequences of them need also to be considered.
Then of course there is the question of what to wear. The bride will need to be measured up and the dress ordered. The groom also needs to be kitted out. It is important too that all the bridesmaids, the best man and everyone who has a particular role to play is up to the occasion.
After the service itself of course there is the formal reception. A suitable venue should be hired that is fitting for the occasion and the necessary catering arrangements made. If there is to be a live group, a DJ or any other form of live entertainment this has to be arranged, and every aspect of the post-service itinerary synchronised so that the correct thing always happens.
Lastly, needless to say, there is the little matter of the honeymoon. If resources allow for it a holiday of a lifetime awaits the happy couple once they have been driven away from the evening event at the required time to catch a flight or else to board a cruise ship to somewhere exotic.
One of the most important players in all of this activity is naturally the luxury chauffeur. He or she will have responsibility for getting those who matter the most to the church on time. Then, if required, he will be there to whisk the groom and his new bride off to the reception, and later possibly also to the airport or another port of call on the way to the honeymoon.
